Would you try to justify your opinion?

I would use 'rather'.
There's a difference in meaning between rather than (=instead of) and other than (=with the exception of).
Examples:
I would use the first option rather than the second one.
He has no friends other than his neighbour.

Please, change the fonts you use to standard.
Why do you think it should be with the exception of?

Mzungu39 didn't say that it should be.

So, in your opinion, are online banks kind of traditional banks? That's what's implied by saying "traditional banks except online banks".

You are right.
I think I was mistaken and my first choice was right.
I get it as there are different ways of investing money besides(rather than) banks.

Ah, I get you.
It's just that he was the only one to mention 'with the exception of'.
But I'll leave you to teach nado your own way. Good Luck. :)
I hope I can teach you Arabic soon. It is so nice.
Thanks for help.
But don't forget we learn English as a second language not the first.

I agree that your first choice was correct. But I'd like to make sure that you understand why.

There certainly are many ways of investing your money. But the sentence doesn't say anything about them. It speaks only about traditional banks and online banks. It says that (what may seem surprising) people choose to use traditional banks. They don't choose online banks. Traditional banks are not online and online banks are not traditional. Is that right? So we don't want to say that they use traditional banks other than online ones. No traditional bank is an online bank, so there is no need to separate these traditional banks that are not online.

I've just used the words 'traditional', 'online', and 'banks' twice as many times as I did in my whole life :)

Yup. Online banking is not a traditional kind of banking, so definitely 'rather'.
