Leak is verb but can be used as noun to mean a small opening or hole in a container, but leakage is a noun though at times it is used as adjective (as leakage current).
You can use the verb “leak” to express the act of secret information being made public or some liquid or gas escaping from a storage place; as:
News of the hike in price of petrol and diesel had somehow leaked out.
Oil leaked out of the car.
On the other hand, leakage can mean: An amount lost as the result of leaking or Something that escapes by leaking.
Every year the Government loose huge tax revenue due to leakage
They tried to stop the leakage of gas from the damaged pipe.
