    come undone

Hello! I'm a student. I have a question. In some songs I've heard "come undone" so I grew interested in what it really means. I've found explanation like this: to unbutton, unfasten. But I don't think that was meant in songs. Could you possibly help me, I'll be very grateful

In an emotional context, it would mean to become emotionally unravelled, perhaps due to the breakup of a relationship, or a death.
