    I was asked "What do i owe the please of this invite?". What would be the appropriate answer??

    The question is inappropriate in my opinion. I should read:

    To what do I owe the pleasure of this invitation?

    'Invite' as a noun is marked colloquial by dictionaries. An answer to this question depends on the context.

    I am not a teacher.
