Where do I find a definition of the difference in use and construction of these two moods in English?

Both the conditional and the subjunctive are used to describe situations that did not happen or have not happened yet. They can be quite confusing in and of themselves, let alone in juxtaposition to each other, even for native speakers.

Aren't conditionals just a way of using sunjunctive mood? I guess there are different schools as always :)
