I wonder what the slight difference is between "about" and "of" in the following sentences.

1. I am apprehensive about your safety.

2. I am apprehensive of your future.

Could you advise me on using "apprehensive about" and " apprehensive of" ?

Thanks in earnest.

In your two sentences, I would only use "apprehensive about".
However, I was surprised to find that a google search showed only 50 percent more hits for "apprehensive about".

Some of the "apprehensive of" hits may be for sentences like 'He is the most apprehensive of all of us.' But "apprehensive of" also seems to be used in sentences like yours. Maybe "apprehensive of" in sentences like yours is more commonly used in other places than it is is North America.

It will be interesting to hear if anyone uses both in sentences like yours, but with different meaning or emphasis.
