Please please please what is the difference between these 2 sentences?
1. If he'd taken the medication as prescribed, he wouldn't still be lying sick in bed.
2. if he took the medication as prescribed, he wouldn't still be lying sick in bed.

The first sentence means that he didn't take the medication.
The second, he took the medication but not as prescribed. He didn't follow exactly what he had been asked for.
