I agree, but I'm still not happy about it. The comma is all that stands between the reader and the misconception that A B and C are examples of MSWord ;-)

Why not uses the word 'use' for both processes: I have used MSWord to write several...

Hi,

How about the following sentence?

I obtained excellent results for some MS Word projects, eg, A, B and C

When I says "MS Word projects", what will you think?

Will you think "I improved the MS Word system"?
Will you think "I used MS Word to complete those projects"?

I don't think there's any risk that someone might thing you had improved MS Word (if such a thing were possible ;-)). But I don't think it's reasonable to refer to 'an MS Word project' when what you've done is just use it - although if you were going to produce a document using several new features of MS Word a friend might say something like 'You've got a nice little MS Word project there - rather you than me!'

PS In a specialized case you might use this term. For example, in my time as a technical writer I used several tools - DEC Standard Runoff, LaTeX, VAX Document, Interleaf, FrameMaker, MS Word .... When starting work on a maintenance project (on an existing manual set, that is) it was necessary to talk about whatever tool had been used. This sort of job might be referred to with a specific reference to the writing tool - 'Bob. I want you to update the Crasher manuals; it's an MS Word project.'
