    Cool it's time....

I told my English teacher "It is time we go". But she said "It is time we went". She said past tense should be used in "it is time..."
    I forgot ask her why...
    Could you help me? thanks

Your teacher make speak Br Eng. In the UK this use of the subjunctive, especially in short and everyday sentences, is unusually formal (except in fossilized idioms like 'be that as it may').

More common (and easy to use) in the UK would be the to-infinitive: 'It's time [for us] to go'.
