    practicing tenses

He walks into a bar and sits down at the table in the back corner -- the one furthest from the window, where the lights, poorly placed by the interior designer, create pools of shadow. He orders his usual from the anxious waitress, a scotch and soda. He sips it, in the tiniest amounts it seems a human being can put in his mouth, and the other patrons watch him nervously.

how do i change that into past tense ive tried to but what other corrections do you see?

    Re: practicing tenses

Hi and welcome to Using English.

What you have there now is, of course, all in the present.

Do you want to also post your attempt to convert it all into past?
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
