    Are theses sentences correct?

1- I wouldn't stay for long, so I've to do everything

concerning the children before I leave the house.

I am not sure what you are trying to say here. When you say, do everything concerning the children are you saying "take care of the children's needs"? Perhaps you could rephrase the sentence to make the meaning clearer.

2- I think we were hasty in our decision.
    This is fine.

This is grammatical but a little rephrasing would make the meaning clear; as:
I wouldn't stay here for long, so I have to complete everything

concerning the children before I leave the house.

2- I think we were hasty in our decision. Ok

In my humble opinion the first sentence is incorrect and should be:

Since I will stay for long (outside the house), I have to do everything concerning the children before I leave the house.
    OR
I will stay for long (outside the house), so I have to do everything concerning the children before I leave the house.

We shall use "would" when telling someone else about it when it is past.

I would stay for long (outside the house), so I had to do everything

concerning the children before I left the house.

As for the second sentence I am at one with respected kfredson and sarat 106.

    Re: Are theses sentences correct?

The original sentence does not make sense. If you wouldn't stay at a place for long, how could you have the time to 'do everything'.

I would stay for long (outside the house), so I had to do everything concerning the children before I left the house.
If the sentence is changed to the positive (would stay), then it makes more sense to replace 'had to to' with 'can/am able to', doesn't it?

    Is it correct then?
