Hello!
I have a question on the choice between synonyms 'solution' vs. 'decision'. Is there any guideline to choose 'solution' rather than a 'decision' and vice versa?
Another question is on the verb to accompany solution/decision. Is it correct to say:
'make decision' (can I use 'take' here?)
'take solution' (can I use 'make' here? or the sence will change drasically into preparing a sort of liquid?)
What is better: "design solution/decision"?
"Technical solution/decision"?

Thank you

Hi,
A decision is simply what people will do (after discussion/thinking about it). It may or may not solve the issue. It may be a bad decision, or the decision may be to wait longer before doing anything.

A solution will solve a problem.

Make a decision -- most common. You may find "arrive at our decision."

Provide a solution.
Arrive at a solution.
Find a solution.
Determine a solution.
