hey you out there in the cold!

This is one of PINK FLOYD's songs in which I have some problems while understanding and translating. First:
"Dont help them to bury the light "
Does it mean "to turn off the light"?

I know this song, but it's difficult to guess what an author wanted to say
exactly. 'Light' has so many meanings. Maybe it,s a metaphor to Mark 4.21:
"A lamp is not brought to be put under a measuring basket or under a bed, is it?" It says about the religious meaning of 'light'.
