Hi,

When two words are connected by "and" does it take a singular verb?
Is not it a mistake to say about a person : move over you have taken too much space/room/place.
Are these sentences correct and if they are not could you explain me why please:
Something was different with this house.
There was something unusual with it.

Thank you.

If the compound or coordinated elements are treated as one, use singular; otherwise use plural.

Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy written early in the career of playwright William Shakespeare.
You and I are here.
