    The future of English?

    Hiya everyone.

Just wondering what peoples views are on what will happen to English in the future.

Is it going to fragment (into mutually unintelligable sub-languages) or fuse(to create a language thats mutually intelligable (to a degree) to everyone?)?

Or does anyone have any alternative theories?

    Thanks

    Suzie

The English language is the most wide spread of all languages. it is spoken in more countries than any other language. it is the language of international relations and diplomacy, the official language of communication in many countries. it has debased many languages and it keeps developing. Many countries teach the English language compulsorily. What other language do you think could surpass it at this level? Chinese? French? These languages have a long way to go to meet up with the attainment of the English Language. Besides, the English Language is a combination of over 500 languages in terms of vocabulary. I think thats what makes it really acceptable. Got any ills about that?

I know its not my native language, but look at it!
