    I'd like to ask you something.
    just a simple question

    Which one is correct?

    "Turn off the light" or "turn the light off"

    I need your suggestion

    They are both okay but 'switch off' is better.

    Not in the US, it's not.

    Turn off the light.
    Turn the light off.
    Turn it off.

    NOT: Turn off it.
    I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

    Barb D is right. Both are ok. The phrasal verb 'turn off' is separable. It can be seperated. It doesn't need to be together. You just have to put a preposition (it,he,she) between the two parts.
