    Question Looking for a name...

    Hi there,
    What’s the name of the golden crust of the food at the bottom of a pot? Say, when the rice (or any other food) is cooked in a pot the layer at the bottom is brown and a bit hard…Thanks a lot in advance.

    Generally speaking, if something is cooked too long and leaves a brown or black crust at the bottom of the pan, we say that we've scorched the pan.
