Dear all,Can the words "calendar" and "diary" be used to refer to an appointment book, which business people use to organize their schedule? My appointment book, which is printed in English, has a word "Diary" on its cover, but when I think of a diary, I always think of a book in which you write something about past events, rather than the future plans.Thank youOP

'Diary' can, but calendars (when they are a physical thing*) are two-dimensional - a card, or a sheet of paper, or a notice. A big one (the size of a large newspaper, opened out) is called a 'year planner' or 'wall planner'.

*Note: 'calendar' can be used metaphorically: 'There's always something on. They have a very full calendar.'
