Dear English-lovers, please help! I’m working on my graduation paper for which a little experiment should be conducted. I’ve asked some students of my University to translate a text into English. In fact, there were two groups of students: future translators and IT specialists. Now I would kindly ask native English speakers to look through these texts and define the level of interference from the Ukrainian language (my native language) to the English one. I would be grateful if you could tell me on which language levels there is interference or which text is the best. I have three pairs of these texts (each of them translated by students from different groups), though I’d be grateful if you could write some words at least about one of them. Thank you all in advance! Here are the texts:
1.1. It does not matter how much RAM your computer has, it will not be of much help without any software or programmed instructions. There are different types of software, the most noticeable of which is packaged software, which can be found in bright boxes in local stores. Such packages contain programmes. There are also game packages and those intended for study or work. Programmes can be stored on floppy disks, magnetic films or cartridges. When you buy one of such programmes, it is already prepared for operation as soon as you unpack it.
Another type of programs not requiring any operations on your part are programs embedded in your computer as software. Some computers contain more embedded programs than others. A specialized computer, i.e. a computer designed for a certain type of operations, may store much of the software. For instance, a word processor is a specialized computer. It has embedded word processing software. Therefore, it cannot be used for data processing, but for word processing only. However, the word processor readily operates instantly after loading. It does not require the third-party software commands.
Module is stand-alone part of the computer programme carrying out a definite programmed task. For example, a programme may have an in-put module and print module. A program, separated into some modules on the stages of planning and programming, is considered to have modular architecture.
They say, that a modular-sized programme has a descending structure, as far as during planning you begin with the general module <<from above>> and work <<downwards>> with a view to attracting all of the modules forming that module. It allows you to decompound a complex programme, in order to make the process of programming simpler and more effective.
1.2. It doesn't matter, how many RAM has your computer, without software or programed commands it wouldn't do much. There are different types of software. Most evident, is the software which we can found in the bright boxes in local shops. This kits contains programs, there are playing kits, other are for studing or work. The programs can be stored on diskettes, magnetic tapes or cassettes. When you buy one of such programs, it is already ready to work, just when you will decompress it.
Another kind of program that don't require any work from your side are programs embeded in your computer as ROM (permanent memory). Some computers contains more embeded programs than others. Significant number of software can contains in specialized computer that was developed for some tasks. For example orhavtomat is a specialized computer. He has embeded software of text processing. Therefore it can't be using for data processing - only for text processing. But orhavtomat ready doing his work immediately after switching-on. He don't need any commands from external software.
In computer program module is an autonomous part of a program, which executes certain program task. For instance, a program can have input module and printing module. A program, divided into modules at the stages of planning and programming, has modular architecture.
They say, that modular program has a descending structure since during the planning you begin from the main module on top and work to the bottom to involve all modules, which compose that module. This allows you to divide a comprehensive program into parts to make the process of programming effective and easy.

2.1. It doesn’t matter how much operational memory there is in your computer, you won’t be able to do much without software or programmed instructions. There are different kinds of software. The most noticeable is the complete software, which can be found in bright boxes in local shops. Such sets include different programs. There are game sets, others are made for study or work. Programs can be stored on floppy disks, magnetic films or cassettes. When you buy one of such programs, it is ready for work as soon as you unpack it.
Another type of programmes, requiring no effort on your part, is the software embedded into your computer as ROM. Some computers contain more embedded software than the others. A great quantity of software may be contained in the specialized computer, i.e. the computer designed for particular operations. For instance, word processor is a specialized computer. It contains embedded software for text processing. Therefore, it can not be used for data processing – it is applicable for text processing only. Nevertheless, word processor is ready for operation as soon as it is turned on. It requires no commands from the external software.
There is an autonomous part of a program in the computer program module that performs a specific software task. For example, the program can contain the input module and the print module. The program, which is divided into modules at the stages of planning and programming, has a modular architecture.
It is said that the program has a top-down structure, since while planning you begin from the “top” general module and proceed to the “down” one, in order to involve all the compound modules. It allows you to split the complex program into parts to make the programming process more effective and simpler.
2.2. It doesn’t matter how many RAM your PC has, he won’t do a lot without software and programmed commands. There are different types of software. The most conspicuous is completed software, which you can find in the bright colour boxes at local stores. Such kits have programmes, games and other software purposed for studying and working. Programmes can be located on diskettes, tapes. When you buy such programme, it’s ready to work as soon as you unpack it.
The other one type of programmes, which don’t need any interference from you are built-in programmes. Some computers have more built-in software than other ones. Considerable amount of software can be located in a specialized computer, i.e. (id est.) a computer is developed for a definite work. For example, a word processing typewriter is a specialized computer. The software of text processing is built in it. Due to this it can’t be used for processing other datum – only for text. But a word processing typewriter is ready to do its work as soon as it’s turned on. It doesn’t need commands from outsource software.
A computer programme’s module is an a offline part of a programme, which do definite programme task. For example, a programme can have an input module and a type module. The programme which is divided in modules while planning and programming has module architecture.
It is said that module programme has descending structure, because during the planning you start from the general module “top” and work “to bottom” to enlist all modules which those module consisted of. This allows you to divide a complex programme into parts to make process of programming more effective and simple.

3.1. The size of the main memory of your computer does not matter, without software or programmed instructions not much can be done. Various types of software are available. Software packages in bright boxes that can be found in local stores are the most popular. Such packages include programs, there are game packages, other are meant for studies and work. Programs can be either on floppy discs, magnetic films or cassettes. When you buy one of such programs, it is ready to work immediately after it has been unpacked.
Another kind of programs that do not demand any efforts from you are the programs that are embedded in your computer as ROM. Some computers have more embedded programs than others. Significant amount of software can be embedded in special-purpose computer, i.e., computer which is developed for certain kind of work. For example, a word processor is a special-purpose computer. There is word processing software embedded in it. Due to this, it cannot be used for data processing but only for text processing. However, a word processor is ready to work immediately after turning on. It does not need any commands from external software.
In computer programs modules are considered to be independent parts of software programs performing some program tasks. For instance, the program can have an inbound module and a printing unit. The computer program divided into modules within the process of programming, possesses the modular design.
The modular program is considered to have a descending structure for within the process of programming you start from the above module and then move downwards in order to cover all constituent modules of that module. This allows you to divide the complex program into smaller parts thus contributing to higher efficiency and simplicity of the process of programming.

3.2. No maters how many RAM has your computer, without software or programmed commands it won’t be able to do something. There are different types of software. The most famous is completed software, which you can find in the colorful boxes in the stores. Such sets include programs, there are game sets, another intended for studying or work. Programs can be stored on floppies, magnetic films or tapes. When you buy jne of such programs it’s already ready for work immediately after you unpack it.
Another kind of programs, which doesn’t require any work from your side, there are programs built into your computer as PAD. Some computers contain more built programs then another. A lot of software can be contained in specialized computer, that means computer which was made for some job. For example, orgmachine is specialized computer. The text editing software is built into it. That’s why it can’t be used for processing data – only for editing text. But orgmachine is ready to do its job already after switching on. It doesn’t need commands from foreign software.
The computer program module is a standalone part of the program that performs a specific software task. For example, the program can have input module and print module. The program has modular architecture, if it is divided into modules at the stages of planning and programming.
They say that program has downstairs structure, because while planning, you start with the general module "above" and work with "down" ones, to implement all the modules, the general consists of. This allows you to split comprehensive program to the parts, and make programming easier and more effective.

Do you have definite/indefinite articles in Ukrainian?

I ask because of sentences like this:
Module is stand-alone part of the computer programme carrying out a definite programmed task. (text 1)
They are frequently used well but there are also gaps.

No, we don't have articles at all, that's why they are such a problem for us

I can tell you that those who have had exposure to computer programming have a better command of the English language. This is because most of the high level programming languages (including the commercially desirable ones) utilise English keywords - it is said that the internet is written in English.

Those who can describe a program stub, top-down architecture, and those who do not confuse "program" (related to computers) with "programme" (related to television) are better at English.

Thank you for your reply. Could I also ask you to tell which text is the best? It's very interesting for me to know, because texts 1.2, 2.2, 3.2 where translated by students who study computer programming, but as for me, some of them have too much grammatical mistakes (e.g. He don't need any commands from external software or PC = he) and can't be considered to be the best. But I'm more interested in your opinion, since foк me English is the second language and I can't judge.

And thanks for telling about "program" and "programme", 'cause we've been told that the first variant is used in AmE while the second - in BrE.
