    bound into school

Can anyone help me with the following sentence:

After a few days you will wonder why you were so worried. You will barely merit a second glance as your child bounds into school with his new-found friends!

    Thank you!

It means that when you first take your child to school, you are probably worried that they will be scared and won't want to go. However, after a few days, your child will run excitedly (bound) into school with their new friends, and will probably not even look back at you as you stand at the school gate watching them!!!
