Hello to all.

just 2 sentences.thanks

1. You should be in the class now.
2. You should have been in the class by now.

Should present perfect tense be used if the time specifier is "by now"?
now = at the moment.
by now = from the past until now

Should present perfect tense be used if the time specifier is "by now"?
now = at the moment.
by now = from the past until now
You can use it, but it's not necessary.
"It's 10 o'clock. He should be there by now. I'll phone him." [You suspect he is still there]
"It's 10 o'clock. He should have been there by now. They should have the package." [You suspect he has been there and left the package, but is not necessarily still there.]
