I am wondering what the underlined part means in this context.
Is it mean Dad treats Digger like a baby, but the man who really takes care of Digger is the boy?
When I took Digger(It is a wombat, the boy's pet in the story) for a walk,
he dug a great hole under the house.
My father takes Digger on his knees and talks to him like he's a baby,
while guess-who mixes the milk and unblocks the teat and all that.
