    reading test

    Dear English Teachers
    i am supposed to prepare a reading test with its specifications..i have already prepared a few but i am feeling a bit unstasfied with them.. if you have some reading tests and forward to me that would be very helpful for me to have some examples...

    Given that we don't know the specifications, it's hard to help. Why don't you post an example here and then we can discuss it.

    As i understood by the meaning of specifications for a reading test is why and how teachers prepare reading test for pupils and what conditions, aims and goals are concerned. For example, i am living in Turkey and my students are Turkish. So, if i prepare a reading test related to Turkey, Turkish culture, history, politics and so on, my students will grasp the text more clearly because they are already familiar with issues in the reading test.

    Using texts about things they are familiar with may reduce the cultural/information burden, but what are going to test? Their ability to identify and extract specific information, to identify and distinguish opinions from facts, etc.
