    Past tense vs Past participle

I had walked to the store (past participle)
I walked to the store (past tense)

What is the difference between these two statements and how do you decide which to use?

Re: Past tense vs Past participle

Both are OK depending on what precedes, follows or is included in the same sentence i.e. context. Submit more detail.
