    A sudden appearance of clouds

    Hello!

Living on the river keeps me connected to the changes in weather. A minor drop in temperature, a sudden appearance of clouds, an increase of wind speed....it is always obvious and can't be ignored.

(An excerpt from Living on the River, Photographer/Writer: Alida Thorpe, underlined by the poster
    http://www.utata.org/show/speaks/alidasphotos/4.php )

    1. About the passage underlined, why did the author choose the expression “clouds”, but neither “a cloud”, nor “cloud”?
    2. Does the site above show clouds, or a cloud or cloud? I suppose it shows clouds.

    Thanks in advance

Re: A sudden appearance of clouds

I suppose so- there are some lines showing edges on the left, so that would (just about) qualify as clouds IMO.
