    Re: idiomatically speaking

    1. Beats the heck out of me.
=> If someone beats you, punches you, so you are unable to walk or talk, then you're unable to speak, give information.

    2. What languages can you speak?
=> It's not idiomatic. 'languages', though, has two meanings. It may refer to human languages (like, Spanish, English, etc.) or computer languages.

    3. Here's looking at you.
=> This is said as a toast (before drinking beer, wine, etc.)

    4. I'm tapped out.
=> To tap a keg, a barrel of beer, is to open it up. When the keg is tapped out, it's empty. When your pockets are empty of money, you're tapped out.

    5. Let's get the cards on the table.
=> When playing a game of cards, especially Poker, one places one's cards down, face up on the table to show what they have. To do so is to offer information that was previously hidden, secret. To get the cards on the table is to tell the truth about what you're thinking/holding in your mind.
