    Full position ?

Does this sentence make sense ?

"Through this internship, I wish to be expose to demanding work that will get me ready to take on a full position"

What I am trying to say by "full position" is a "paid job" but I don't want to use this expression as it wouldn't sound good.
How could I formulate this ?

    thanks for your help
