Unhappy How to teach beginners about "The Weather"?

I'm a student in a Teachers' Training Course and I've been asked to prepare a class about "The Weather" (In English of course.)
My students are true beginners, mostly adults. Our Language 1 is Spanish.
I wasn't provided with a Course Book or any other aid, so I feel lost. I don't know what "tense", "pattern" or structure" would be appropriate for this.
I was thinking... something like: "What's the Weather like in Alaska..?" but I would like to know if there is a Tense that is more suitable for this topic.

Please answer asap. I appreciate any help. Thank you!

If they're real beginners, I wouldn't bring tense into it. I'd draw a few meteorological symbols on the board or an OHP slide (not too many), and match them with a few expressions - like 'it is raining/sunny/foggy'.

You could use flashcards. For each card you pronounce a suitable word or phrase, such as It's sunny, it's raining...

    After then, they should practice.
    1. You can ask them to repeat.
    2. You can ask other students to correct their friends if they make a mistake.
    3. You can make mistakes on purpose and ask the students to correct them.
    4. Play pantomime, and they should guess the word regarding the weather.
