    a OR an

    Hi,

Could someone please let me know which is correct:

He is a member of a EU national body

He is a member of an EU national body.

I thought I could put an EU .... or a EUROPEAN UNION .... but not a EU.

    Thanks.

    Re: a OR an

**Neither a teacher nor a native speaker.**

    You are fully right.

    An EU...
    A European...
    A EU...
    An European...

    It always depends on pronunciation.

    Cheers!
