To share in the spoils - meaning?

    Hello

What is the meaning of the expression in bold?

The Silicon Valley blogger Michael Arrington, who runs the influential TechCrunch blog, recently caused a ruckus by suggesting that Facebook has been turning a blind eye to the scams because it is sharing in the spoils.

    How to paraphrase this expression?

And what can be the synonym of the word 'blog' and 'blogger'?

They're the only words in use that I know and I think it would be artificial to use a paraphrase or something. you don't have to change every word.
