    better jokes

I would like to express the following meaning.

    Students know/say better jokes.

The above sentence is part of the following:

...you reminded me the days when I was a student and I was practicing how to debate. I think that all will admit that Students know/say better jokes.

Could you help make the sentence above sound more ok?

(The general rule is "to say something" and to "tell someone", EXCEPT for certain expressions such as "tell time/a joke/a story/the truth" etc.
