Thanks very much!
I am in a middle of a war with my friend on this subject.
Additional explanation to this would be very much appreciated. I have told her that this sentence is incorrect, but she keeps arguing.
What about the sentence “He gets to know that she is intelligent”
Post this query
(the above written by my friend and I am sure it is incorrect, but unable to explain)
Thank you again!
It's not wrong. But this whole "I got to know; I came to know" is not colloquial English.Thank you for your resonse sir!
Is this incorrect then?
I got to know that he plays golf.
Thank you for your reply sir!
There are millions of questions arising in my mind now
If you could help me with the usage of two simple present tense in a sentence along with the conjunction "that" in it, that would be great.
Second, I think I am missing out on basics here.
I don't know how to put my thoughts into writing here now. Confused :-|:-|:-|
Sorry. I'll try to stop anticipating your replies. :-DI see someone beat me to saying that we use "I discovered..." or "I found out..." in the context you're using.
