    DIFFERENCE WORDS
    OTHER, ANOTHER

These words refer to something different, remaining, or additional.
They are placed before the noun.
Another is used with singular nouns, other with singular or plural.

    Examples...
There are other jobs you could try.
Where's the other packet of cereals?
    Is there any other bread?
    Have another cup of tea.

As previously explained, another refers to a singular. Remember that it comes from "an other" so it means "one other/different/more".

Can I have another beer? = Can I have one more beer?
There is another mirror in the room. = There is one more mirror in the room.

The whole sentence needs to agree:

Is there another person in the room?
Are there other people in the room?

Note the first definition of "another" - adjective. One of its meanings is 'additional'.

    We need another five boxes.
