    Is this good English

Dear experts, do you think the two sentences below sound OK in English:

"In Bulgaria, the reasons for the increased spread of tuberculosis are to be found in poor lifestyle, low social status, poor hygienic habits and the impossibility to isolate carriers due to lack of legal rights to do so without their consent. Another reason for the growth of tuberculosis is the resistance of tuberculosis bacteria to many of the medications used to treat the disease."

    Re: Is this good English

I think they sound OK but I would like to reduce the length of the first sentence and offer a few other minor changes.
"In Bulgaria there are a variety of reasons for the increased spread of tuberculosis. Lifestyle, low social status, poor hygenic habits, and the resistance of tuberculosis to many medications are among the reasons. But another factor is the difficulty of isolating carriers of the disease due to the legal rights of individuals."

In Bulgaria, poor lifestyles, low social status, poor hygienic habits and the impossibility to isolate carriers due to lack of legal rights to do so without their consent, have led to the spread of tuberculosis (TB). Another reason for the spread of the disease is the emergence of drug-resistant TB bacteria."
