Dear teachers,

Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?

Jenny got to her feet.”I’m in a big hurry now. I’ve got to go somewhere and pay a call before it gets too late.”

pay a call = pay a visit

Thank you for your efforts.

Regards,

V.

"pay a call" (euph) = to go to the toilet.

I shouldn't have pigged out last night. I'd better pay a call before we go out.
