I attended a grammar teaching workshop two years ago.During a discussion activity, a facilitator forbade me to use the term 'verbs to do' in my group's lesson plan . According to her, it was non-existent.

I felt very baffled that time. To defend my standpoint, I told her that I had come across the term in a grammar handbook. She asked for the name of the author but I could not remember it. She concluded that it was not a reliable source. Having no choice, I deleted the word and replaced it with 'verbs'.

I still feel bad about the whole thing. Is 'verbs to do' a valid term or not?
