Hi there

Peace and stability are used in the literature in the same meaning, and I am criticising this phenomenon, I put it in this way:

“The first straightforward problem with the previous correspondence (of stability and peace) is that it is....”

My question is that is the word “correspondence” a right choice to refer to the problem (of using two words to refer to the same meaning), and if not is there a better word?

No they aren't. Can you give some examples?

and I am criticising this phenomenon,
So would I if it were true.

I put it in this way:
“The first straightforward problem with the previous correspondence (of stability and peace) is that it is....”

My question is [STRIKE]that is[/STRIKE] whether the word “correspondence” is a right choice to refer to the problem (of using two words to refer to the same meaning), and if not is there a better word?

You could try
- "the identification of 'peace' and 'stability'"
"Identify" here means "to make identical" or "treat as identical".
- "the lack of distinction between 'peace' and 'stability'"
- "the failure to discriminate between ... "

- "the identification of 'peace' and 'stability'"

Where you associate one word with another, shouldn't it be 'the identification of peace with stability'?

not a teacher

You could write it that way. It might even be better in this case.
