    Expressions

    Dear All,

Another question with regard to CELTA course , Your help would be highly appreciated ..

I've got OR I have A / Headache, sore throat, cough

The questions asks: Imagine you are teaching Multilingual group of biggners
    1. Problems in Understanding these sentences.
    2. problems in pronouncing them ..

Do I have to explain what do these sentences mean and concentrate on introducing new words for the students .. giving them the linguistic transcription or what ?

    Thanks again ,,

    Karim

Both are correct. "I have a headache" is more common in American English, while "I've got a headache" is more common in British English, but neither sounds odd to my ears.

I don't understand. Are you teaching a pronunciation class? If so, that is the only situation I can imagine in which it might possibly be acceptable for the students not to understand the sentences.
