    formal letters

    I was simply wondering if a works cited in necessary when writing a formal letter that has quotations in it.

    work cited is only for research. If you're writing a regular formal letter than no. If the teacher ask you to do some research on the topic. Then yes. you would list where you got the information. Or the teacher will throw it in the garbage.
