    Is the term 'Big majority' or 'Great majority' redundant?

    Not a teacher.

    No, but "large" or "vast" majority is a more common phrasing.

    If you need 51 votes to pass a law, then having 51 is a "majority."

    If 85 vote for it then a vast majority favored it.
