"So how much interest is out there for Erick Dampier? Scratch that. How much interest is out there for Erick Dampier's contract?"

I would've used "in." Is "for" correct?

Thanks.

If you are referring to "interest" in terms of payment, then your sentence should look something like this: So how much interest is in there for Erick Dampier? Or "How much interest is there for Erick Dampier?"

If you are referring to "interest" in terms of attention, then your sentence should look something like this: Anyone interested out there for Erick Dampier?

Second sentence: "How much interest is [STRIKE]out[/STRIKE] there [STRIKE]for[/STRIKE] in Erick Dampier's contract?"

Thank you for your reply.

Those sentences were not written by me, but by a blogger who works for nba.com.

I don't think "So how much interest is in there for Erick Dampier?" is correct; "in" should be replaced with "out."

"Anyone interested out there for Erick Dampier." should, in my view, read: "Anyone out there interested in Erick Dampier."

Is "for" really correct and "in" wrong?

Thanks.
