I would like to use a phrasal verb instead of preserve. What's the best choice?

If I were you, I would use "take care of". However, to be more sure, could you possibly write down the whole sentence so that I can tell you which is the one that best relates with the context?

hi,

Please note I'm not a teacher nor a native speaker;

keep memory alive

It's the only thing that comes to my mind.

Cheers
