    Continent

"While rare in a country such as the United States, Hep B is quite common in the continent of Africa."

I always say "on the continent." Am I wrong in doing so?

    Thanks.

    Re: Continent

I also always say "on" and I teach "on the continent," as well.

However, it appears that both are possible. See this discussion: in the continent or on the continent? - WordReference Forums
