    hype

When a certain event creates "noise" and the media keeps dealing with it, is the proper word: "hype" or would you suggest a better word?

Moreover, it should be noted that Nobel Prize and the hype that followed in the media, just make it more difficult on Obama, as he is expected to prove that he has the intention and the ability to dramatically change the US policy

Yes. It means a different thing, but it's more appropriate.
    You could also use "controversy"
But only you know what you want to say, i.e. what you think happened in the media.
