    footing

    Dear teachers,

Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expressions in bold in the following sentence?

То be really cost effective we must have a good footing in the international video market.

He gained a footing in society.

footing = strong, stable position (in society, institution , etc.)

    Thanks for your efforts.

    Regards,

    V.
