    empower

    Hi All,,

Can I use empower as below

    1. My dad was empowered when I called him on Father's day and recite a poem about him.
    2. I am empowered with emotion when my son tells me that I am genius mom :)

I mean can I use to express the feelings

    Please guide me

    Thanks in Advance

Not really, no. To empower means to give someone else the power to do something.

    Re: empower

You could say instead that you were moved or touched when...(or you dad was moved when you...

I was really touched when my coworkers sent a bouquet to my house after I came home from the hospital.

Hearing the sincerity in his voice when he said how much I meant to him really moved me.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
