Which is best:
-My room smells of cigarettes.

-My room smells of cigarette.

-My room smells of tobacco.

-My room smells tobacco.

1 & 3 are correct. 2 & 4 are not.

Whether you use 1 or 3 depends on whether you room actually smells of cigarettes (usually cigarette smoke) or of tobacco. They have slightly different smells.

Then, should we use tabocco smell for those of pipes and cigars?

Personally, I would still be inclined to be specific when talking about the actual smell:

My room smells of pipe smoke.
My room smells of cigar smoke.
My room smells of cigar smoke.

If my room smelt of tobacco, then I would expect it to smell of unburnt, dried tobacco leaves.
