    Is there...

    Is there any difference between the words: landscaping and gardening? Or both of them mean the same thing? Thanks.

    Gardening is just about any work you do in the garden - digging, planting, growing, pruning, weeding etc etc.

    Landscaping is specifically the art of designing and making a garden to a specific pattern or design.

    I agree with emsr2d2. I would only add that in the US we generally consider landscaping to be the planting and tending of grass, bushes, flowers and trees to improve the beauty of one's property.

    Gardening can be a part of this but we often consider it to focus on the cultivation of things to eat, along with flowers.
