    Thumbs up sentences

    Are the following senetnces acceptable?

    1. Prompted by compassion, Tina hit upon the idea of keeping the cat as a pet, so she took the cat home.

    2. After getting home, Tina asked her mom whether or not she agrees her to keep the kitten as a pet.

    3. At first, Tinaís mom didnít agree with her for fear that the cat would make the house in a mess.

    Grammatically there are no mistakes here, but it's a bit repetitive to say "the cat." You could say "it" or "her" or "him."

    2. After getting home, Tina asked her mom whether or not she agrees her to keep the kitten as a pet.

    I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
