Question One sentence has two meanings?

Remember in prayer the many who are sick of our church and community.

The above sentence was the exercise given by my Bible study .
Our teacher told us, there were two meanings for the sentence, could you tell me the anwser?

    2. Remember to pray for the people who are (sick of our church and community.)

Yes, you have understood the two meanings. Do you understand why the second one is quite amusing?

Question Re: One sentence has two meanings?

I think the second one is an irony .
Could you show me how to put the punctuations to the sentence?
